11/22/22 - Jamaica

This is Kathi - a registered assistant at Faith Investment Services. I recently had the opportunity to go to Jamaica on a mission trip with cfd Investments, our broker-dealer in Kokomo, IN. It was a privilege to spend a week, building a home for Douglas and sharing our lives with the Jamaican people.

My heart was gripped by the children in Jamaica and the very difficult circumstances many children find themselves in. Over 90% of children in Jamaica are raised by a mother or grandmother, often with no father figure in their life at all.

Daddy, daddy! Where are you? Don’t you want to see me grow?

Don’t you want to be there for me? I need you, don’t you know?

Don’t you want me to say some day, “I am who I am today because of you”?

Daddy, daddy, please come through.

Join Me

I made a close connection with the young girl pictured below and will be continuing to write to her and support her education. She wanted to "come home in my suitcase" and I wanted that very much too! Please join me in praying for her and so many children like her.

I am collecting books and simple games for the girls' home in St Mary, Jamaica. If you live in Northwest Ohio and want to contribute nice used books or games, please reply to this email with information. We are seeking items that will encourage and edify these young girls and give them positive input. Thanks for letting me share my story.
